Scent Profile: Citrus (Lemon, Bergamot & Mandarin Orange), White Musk, Jamaican Ginger, White Pepper, Haitian Vetiver, Hiba Wood, Honey Amber, Black Sage, Peppermint, Jerusalem Pine
This will be one of your go to scents this summer I swear! Looking for something fresh with a little zing? If so, Future Fiction could be the scent for you this season my friend and In CK-6!
Some of you may recall an earlier rendition of this scent, if not no big deal for we went back to the drawing board and re-tweaked it! Everything you loved about the original is still there but now with an added richness and depth!
This time around we really went out of our way to build a better beast, note by note. Just as in poetry in regard to word choice, each scent note has its own weight and value. If something didn't work or we couldn't say why it was there or what it was doing, it was tossed. While it's true the original scent has character, we wanted to enhance it or make it more pronounced, stronger.
With this in mind, Future Fiction opens up with a burst of citrus in a medley of Lemon, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange & Jerusalem Pine! From there, the mood gets a bit more sophisticated yet still playful. Not playful naughty but playful Tag Your It!
The Palette
White Musk: is floral, woody and musky with a hint of animalic muskiness. Yet another musk coming atcha!
Jamaican Ginger: Spicy, refreshing, sharp, bracing yet light, and really helps contain the overflow of colors happening in the accord.
White Pepper: I chose white pepper to add a little animalic boost to the White Musk. The two paired really well together and synergistically rounded out the more woody elements. A very masculine character.
Haitian Vetiver: Deep, slightly sweet and resinous, with pronounced earth and root notes and light smoky undertones.
Hiba Wood: The scent is a uniquely citrusy and cedar-like. The Hiba functions as a bridge between the top notes and base notes. Fun Fact: Hiba wood has long been used in Japan for building houses and pagodas. Construction takes many forms.
Honey Amber: Is a delightfully aromatic and intoxicatingly rich scent. Honey Amber is characteristically defined as a sweet, woody earthy note. It is made up of various tree resins, with a touch of vanilla and honey which give the honey amber resin its memorable sweet aroma. Because of it's epic fragrance make-up, it is considered a sacred temple powder often referred to as "Nectar of the Gods" or "Ambrosia" in certain cultures and literature.
Peppermint: Mints and spices play so well together when laid out in a proper counterpoint of each other. Peppermint in combination with the black sage and white pepper really added some energy and motion to the blend. Very refreshing & engaging.
Jerusalem Pine Resin: Now for the crowning note, Aleppo pine also known as Jerusalem pine! One of the most aromatically sublime pine notes produced in nature.
