Once upon a time, in a small village in Portugal, a bitter feud brewed between two families of master craftsmen. One was devoted to making badger-hair brushes for shaving, loving the softness of the bristles on their sensitive (but still manly) skin. The other swore allegiance to boar brushes, preferring the excellent lather and rugged good looks of the sturdier bristles. The feud was settled only when the two patriarchs forged an alliance. They decreed that neither boar nor badger was the one true brush, and from their treaty grew Semogue - a shaving brush company for the ages.
