WHERE TO BUY BEARD OIL?
If you're growing or maintaining facial hair, beard oil should be a non-negotiable part of your daily routine. Not only is a good beard oil important for softening bristles, but it's also essential for moisturising the often neglected skin underneath.
Here are our picks for the best beard oils on the market.
1. MILKMAN BEARD OIL KING OF WOOD 50ML
This delicious smelling, Australian made beard oil contains natural ingredients that will leave your follicles shiny and soft.
Reviewer verdict: "I bought this a few weeks ago as I'd been growing my beard and didn't know how to keep it smooth and tame. This not only smells amazing but it's so easy to apply and gives my beard a natural shine! My girlfriends loves how it smells too which is an added bonus!"
2. CAPTAIN FAWCETT'S BOOZE & BACCY BEARD OIL, 50ML
Developed in collaboration with model and famous beard owner, Ricki Hall, this Booze and Baccy beard oil doesn't, despite what the name might suggest, smell like an old pub carpet. Instead, it's full of rich, warm ingredients like tobacco leaves, rum and vanilla. We'll drink to that.
Reviewer verdict: Lovely scent. If you haven’t tried the baccy and whisky potions, then this is a good start; smells like a pipe tobacconists. I use it once a week just before bed to give my beard a shine and feeling soft when I get up. A few drops go a long way. I use four good drops, warmed in the hand and spread through the beard, before finishing my glorious tache off. Perfect.
3. BOSSMAN BRANDS JELLY™ MAGIC SCENT BEARD OIL – 118ML
Bossman Jelly™ Beard Oil is a first of its kind product that lasts longer and performs better than standard beard oil using an increased viscosity and the moisturizing properties of higher quality oils.
The Bossman Jelly™ Beard Oil moisturizes the skin and hair without making it sticky. The jelly not only nourishes the pores of the skin but also makes the hair softer to the touch and more manageable. The consistency of the Jelly Beard Oil is what makes it a truly revolutionary men’s grooming product.
Reviewer verdict: I never write reviews of products but am compelled to anyone interested in trying Bossman Jelly Beard Oil to do so. It is a fantastic improvement in coverage and stamina over regular beard oil. I have purchased both the Magic and Stagecoach scents and love them both. Conditions skin, mitigates itch, and leaves a brother feeling like a BOSS :-)
4. WEIRDY BEARDY THE RAVEN BEARD OIL 50ML
The Raven Beard Oil not only conditions your skin and keeps your beard velvety soft with the addition of Argan and Kakui oils, but smells like a quality cologne.
Includes Shea butter to keep your beard looking sharp and impressive. A sophisticated drop for the dapper bearded gentleman.
Reviewer verdict: I've never used a beard oil before, however lately my beard has been feeling quite coarse. It did a fantastic job at hydrating my beard, keeping it soft and smooth. It doesn't leave any oily residue and quickly absorbs into the skin and beard. It's left my skin feel very nourished!
5. PRORASO BEARD OIL WOOD & SPICE 30ML
The Proraso Wood & Spice Beard Oil refreshes, moisturises, and protects using natural ingredients that promote healthy beard growth and prevent breakages. Masculine scent of cedar wood and spice.
Reviewer verdict: Love this beard oil from scent to its ability to soften and control my beard. I've used several products, and this is by far my favorite. Some reviews say the scent doesn't last and I would have to disagree. My wife still smells it on me when I get home from work after only putting it on in the morning. I think they may be experiencing what's called olfactory fatigue, which is the adaptation our nose makes after smelling a scent for a while (nose-blindness). Overall, I highly recommend it to my friends.
6. CAPTAIN FAWCETT'S THE MILLION DOLLAR BEARD OIL 50ML
Captain Fawcett have collaborated with founding ambassador of Beard Season Jimmy Niggles to design this bespoke Million Dollar Beard Oil. Crafted with fresh oceanic scents, earthy resinous notes and topped with an enchanting floral citrus, the only addition that seemed fitting was the ultimate luxuriant - flakes of 23 carat gold. Used daily, this elegantly scented balance of essential oils will soothe, moisturise and invigorate both skin and facial hair.
Reviewer verdict: Captain Fawcett Million Dollar Oil (admittedly a funny name but has a decent justification) is for me the best beard oil, both in terms of smell and effect. Mine only needs a very small amount and the beard becomes softer and does not itch. The oil is a bit on the thicker side — I don't like the thin oils too much. The smell always reminds me of dried sage, wild herbs that grow on the side of the road in the Mediterranean and smell in the strongest midday heat. It's not like you smell like a walking herb bush. In any case, it is a very natural, spicy smell. Many oils have a single, intensely biting smell, which seems a bit chemical. This oil is completely different.
7. LAYRITE CONCENTRATED BEARD OIL
A revolutionary, thicker, less greasy, and easy to use beard and skin conditioner expertly formulated to deliver superb moisture to hair and skin.
Key Ingredients
Sweet Almond Oil, Soybean Oil, Avocado and Argon Oil // unique blend of natural oils condition and smooth hair while creating a protective barrier on skin to help lock in moisture and prevent "beardruff".
Reviewer verdict: My husband tried another beard oil I got him and it smelled like mildew. This beard oil smells great. Additionally, he said it helps keep his beard and mustache under control. When he forgets to put it on his mustache often tickles his nose, but with this oil it doesn't do that. I've also noticed that his beard and mustache are much softer now that he's been wearing it for a while. The oil doesn't provide any actual hold and I am not sure how it works in a longer beard as my husband keeps his fairly short.
8. BOSSMAN BEARD OIL - STAGECOACH SCENT 56ML
If the most interesting man in the world were a cowboy, his beard would beg for Stagecoach. This Texas sized blend of rugged leather, sweet tobacco, and aged Bourbon will make your beard look and smell like a gentleman as you belly up to any saloon. Saddle not required.
Reviewer verdict: I love how it gives my beard shine without the greasy feel as it moisturizes. The stagecoach sent is my wife's favorite and I agree. A soft sweet but manly scent as is mixed with your natural oils. My beard is longer and stronger now. Ever since I tried my first bottle, I saw results and will be using this the rest of my beards life!
